Hi charles, kodak's easy share cameras are well know for their easy of use and may be more appropriate to an elderly user, to be honest I can't give a great recommendation here, but you could always head to your local camera store and try some out, choose whatever one works for you. Here are some models that might work
Sony DSC TX7- it has a really big screen 3.5" diagonal on the back and is touch screen - maybe touch screen will be more appropriate than lots of buttons on the camera
Kodak EasyShare M381 also has a nice big screen and should benefit from Kodak's simpler approach.
So go to a store and try some out - give the ones I've mentioned a shot. You'll want to feel comfortable with a few things so make sure you try all of the following at the store:
-taking a photo
-zooming in and out
-deleting a photo
-taking the memory card and battery out
-turning the flash on and off
-making sure the camera is set to auto mode (in case it ever gets switched by accident)
After this take 3 pictures on your camrea ,go to your local store (grocery, pharmacy, etc) and sit down at one of their photo stations, kodak has easy to use photo stations. Pop in your card and use the machine to print the photos - this should take you full circle. -

Hi Ruby, this article strongly recommends the Canon SX120 IS as an easy to use camera for older users.
