Snapsort Score's Credibility
It would be better if you will remove the "popularity" criteria in your scoring. And to give it a hundred for weight?? You gave more weight to popularity than aperture and any other important aspects! are you kidding?? Popularity is not that important. Snapsort score would be very credible just like Dxomark's if you make your scoring focused on important technical specifications and features. We want fair scoring results just like how Dxomark did it... very credible and unbiased The reason why we are comparing cams here is to see the difference no matter what their brands are.

Hi AK, I know what you mean, and other people have expressed similar opinions.
The main reason why popularity is included is because generally Snapsort doesn't have quite enough information to make a good recommendation on specs alone, especially for point and shoots where we have no info on image quality. So in a sense popularity represents how good people think the camera is, and at a high level seems to work well, it enables the system to avoid recommending cameras that aren't that good but look really good according to their specs.
We aimed to be transparent about our scoring so people could understand exactly how the scores work, so they could decide for themselves if they want to use them, or look past them and form their own opinion.
We hope in the future to have more information about the cameras to make recommendations without popularity, and make recommendations more personal, e.g. take popularity into account for those who want it (e.g. many people buy Nikon or Canon rather than Pentax because they are the big safe brand names). -

So, the term popularity & the score on that term makes the total score a bit confusing.
quite often a very Popular camera may/does not really represent a good camera.
My suggestion is: U can give a bit weight on Popularity in case of a Point & shoot camera, but give very little weight on popularity factor in case of SLR cameras. Bcoz the SLR users/buyers seek tested data whether its Canon, Nikon or Fuji, Leica, Pentax etc regardless big players
