Max shutter speed issue

Hi toxa.b4. I'm not sure I understand your logic. Perhaps you can explain a bit further?

The way I see it is that 1/1 is a full second, 1/2 is a half second, 1/4 is a quarter second, and so on. The shutter speed gets faster as the bottom number gets bigger. 1/4000 is faster than 1/1600, and therefore better as a maximum shutter speed.

Yes, you are right. This is what I meant.
I think I understood my mistake. You have comparsion of cameras in one class, but not overall comparsion.
That is why 1/1600 in digicam was better than 1/4000 in dslr class.

Ah, yes. You've pointed out that we show how good something is relative to other products in the same category. We show the values this way because it doesn't always make sense to compare camera across categories (for example, a point and shoot versus a professional DSLR).
