Looking for better understanding with the Snapsort best cameras list.
I've been doing a lot of research and comparison of the Fujifilm Finepix HS20EXR and the older HS10 and have found that in terms of picture quality, pixel size, video performance, price, ISO noise, and reviews, the HS10 clearly beats the HS20. So my question is: Why is the HS20 placed so high above the HS10 on the best cameras list Snapsort provides? Is it just based on specs alone? Just looking for a better understanding and wondering if there's something I missed in my dicision with the HS10. Thanks!

Hi Dr Deneuralizer, the higher score is based on specs and popularity, you can see the differences on the HS10 vs HS20 score page.

Ah, thanks for the reply and for clearing that up. It's interesting that the score page does not include pixel size and true resolution, is that because it's only an estimate? It is a shame though that many do not know true resolution and think they got a great camera just because it has more megapixels. I really hope you guys can spread this knowledge and save people from buying the wrong camera. Now would you say that the difference in price and true resolution is enough to justify the purchase of the HS10 over the HS20?

Good point about pixel size and true resolution. Snapsort includes the sensor size in the score, and does not include resolution, this is because we think sensor size can have a big impact on image quality (especially at higher ISOs), whereas resolution often has little or no impact.

Sorry for so many questions, I hope you don't mind. So the HS10 and the HS20 both have the same sensor size, right? However the HS20 has 16 megapixels vs just 10 for the HS10, wouldn't having so many more pixels crammed onto the same sensor greatly effect the image quality? From what I see, 10mp vs 16mp on the same sensor area is quite a lot, correct? Thank you for helping me, I really apreciate it!
