Incorrect information about the Sony DSC-WX5

Incorrect information about the Sony DSC-WX5.

The sensor size is 1/2.3" (7.81mm) (see Sony's page http://bit.ly/963YgU), not 1/3.6" (5x4mm), as listed on the page. http://bit.ly/c2odDz

EDIT: I also noticed other errors on the page:

Your site:
1080p @ 25fps
1440 x 1080 @ 25fps
720p @ 25fps
480p @ 25fps

Sony's site: "Video Mode : AVCHD 1920x1080 (59.94i, Interlace)(Approx.17Mbps) / 1440x1080 (59.94i, Interlace)(Approx.9Mbps) MP4 1440x1080 (29.97fps, Progressive)(Approx.12Mbps) / 1280x720 (29.97fps, Progressive)(Approx.6Mbps)/VGA (640x480)(29.97fps, Progressive)(Approx.3Mbps)"

Differences: It is most certainly not 1080p. It's 1080i @ 59.94fps. Also, it's 29.97fps, not 25fps.

Great site, but your information needs to be more accurate. You might want to check your sources. I'm starting to wonder what other information on snapsort is inaccurate like this? Am I really getting a good comparison by using the site?

  • Hi Simon, I've read a bit more about Sony's 1920x1080 @ 60i, and from what I can tell its actually the same as 30p, read the section titled "30P or 60i – Which Is It?" here:

    http://www.luminous-landscape.com/rev...

"Most people interested in video know that interlaced is old tech, that all modern TVs are progressive devices, and that therefore Progressive video recording is to be preferred, because it potentially offers twice the vertical resolution of interlaced. But Sony AVCHD video cameras (at least until one gets to their higher-end prosumer and pro gear) is speced as recording 60i. But, when you read the fine print you discover that qt least some of these cameras (such as the VG10) really aren't recording 60i, they're capturing 30P and placing it in a 60i "wrapper"."
