Compare with where it's used for!

How about you make a test to pick out the best camera, since there is no way a D300s from Nikon is better for Sportsphotography as a D700 from Nikon. So you also have to ask where you wanna use the camera for! Also, a Nikon D700 and a D3x can't be compared, since one is a studio camera and one is an outdoor camera. So make an extra option, compare for use/used for ... photography. Like portrait studio, portrait outdoor, sports, stuff like that!

    Hi Mariska,

You make a very good point. Right now our comparisons are rather absolute, but it would make a lot more sense for them to be contextual as you described.

We have plans to do something like this. In the short term we're working on a search/browse feature, which will essentially let you pick whats important to you and we'll recommend which cameras look the best for that.

Initially it will be pretty simple, but eventually we'd love "good for sports photography" to be one of the features you could pick!

We have some ideas, but we'd love to hear more of yours: are there other 'uses' you'd be interested in seeing? What do you look for in a good sports photography camera?
    • For sports photography essentially you'll be looking at a dire need for high fps, great high ISO performance (to freeze the action with fast shutter speeds).

On the other hand, high megapixel count (above 12 or so) probably is unnecessary, and might even be undesirable if it compromises the speed and high ISO performance.

Finally, a double card slot would be nice because of the continuous shooting and the need to be able to take a photograph whenever the moment calls for one.
