compare pixel size
please use pixel density instead of pixel amount to compare the quality; many pixels wont give more detail, unless the glass and sensor is bigger; a small sensor is better for having all in focus and lighter lenses and fewer pixels always give better picture since they each get more light, when made the same year (eg foveon) - also the benefits of cmos are very small and can be worse for video

Hi Solsang, Snapsort does calculate the pixel size for each camera, you can compare them on the specs tab, for example see the Canon S95 vs Nikon D3100, you can see the pixel size on the D3100 is much larger, 25.1 vs 4.3 microns square.
